What’s New
Thursday, September 9th, 2010Three New Patterns
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010Well, new in a way! They are out of print/vintage, but new to the store. Check them out in Dressing the Bride. I have many more to add but it is slow work this busy time of year.
What’s New
Thursday, August 5th, 2010In general ~ we now have high-speed Internet (!) . . . so, in theory, I could update the website and blog now, right?
We are praising God for this. We had extremely slow dial-up. It is hard to do anything that way, especially run businesses!
The store ~ customers can now check out without an account.
What’s New
Thursday, July 15th, 2010Not much, but it has been a long time since I posted anything so even my presence is new.
Just updated the samples gallery (it’s in the top menu in the retail store).
Finally finished upgrading the store software. That was pretty much a full-time job for a week (of course, if our modem would connect faster than 12,000 that would have sped it up considerably!).
The Sabbath Keeper’s Planner Is Here!
Friday, June 11th, 2010I’ve wanted to do this for a long time: create printable planner pages/notebook pages specifically desgined for Sabbath Keepers. This desire sprang from my frustration at not being able to find free printable sheets that met my needs (my week doesn’t begin on Monday!).
Well, these aren’t exactly free but they are cheap, plus you can save the files to your computer and print whatever you need, whenever you need it ~ forever. And owners of the planner package will get free or discounted upgrades when I publish a new version!
Are you a Sabbath Keeper? Then check out The Sabbath Keeper’s Planner!
Fabric Flowers
Friday, June 11th, 2010Some fabric flower samples made using the instructions in Beautiful Lingerie.
The results you get depend on the type of fabric, the length of the piece, the width of the piece, and how tightly you gather it. I’m going to try some lighter weight fabrics next time.
What’s Happening
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010This week’s update!
- My sewing machine is, indeed, working. It is sick but I am able to use it with the upper tension set extremely high (for some reason that makes the tension right on the stitching!). Some part of the tension mechanism may be worn out. I’m making a beautiful green skirt. Ripping seams right now.
- Added a new article to the store area: Why Sew?
- I probably won’t get a newsletter out this week but remember that you can sign up by commenting on the blog with your request.
- Internet connection has been very bad lately, especially today, so very little has happened around here.
And the winner is . . .
Monday, April 26th, 2010The winner of the gift certificate is Marla Y!
Congratulations. I’ll send it to you soon.
The newsletter will also be out in a day or so.

What’s New
Monday, April 5th, 2010First of all, there is a reason the blog is so dry right now. As you may know, my Internet connection is very slow. Lately it has been so slow I have hardly been able to accomplish the basic necessities of my job. So, while I may be thinking about sewing tips, Eat the Cheapest Foods, Gardening as a Frugal Project, etc. I simply am not able to do anything more than think!
Your prayers in this matter would be appreciated. We are trying to get a different (used) modem for a low price to see if that will help. It may not work, but we hope so. The modem we have now is not connecting at as high a speed as its predecessor (which was killed by lightening) so we are looking for a different brand to try.
Also, I have new cross stitch patterns! They are from My Big Toe Designs, a Christian-based company that specializes in Scripture and Christian themed designs.
