I was going to start a baby blanket last night for a gift I will need soon but I couldn’t find the only fabric I have that might work. Then I found a blanket I had already made and forgotten about that will be just perfect! I like having a stash of baby gifts. Baby blankets are so easy to make but I need to invest in some more flannel.

Karen Faylor of the Karen Faylor Company shares what she does when beginning a new project. I think I need to follow her example! I am going to reread this before I begin my next project today (although, since it’s already cut out it isn’t really a new project). This project is also a baby gift but I’m not telling what it is or posting pictures until after the baby shower (just in case the mama should happen by).

I’ve decided that I can’t start a new project until I’ve finished an old one. I like to start new projects, but I’d also like to finish all my projects! So, NO NEW PROJECTS until an old one is done. Since I’m itching to make a dress for a friend’s little girl , cut out some aprons, and work on a design project I just thought of yesterday, I’d better get this baby gift done, attach the hook and eye to my skirt, and put together the apron I already cut out.

I haven’t had a chance to try it because we are basically buried in produce around here right now, but maybe when the nectarines and corn are done I will be able to spend a few minutes each day on sewing projects. I have one or two baby gifts to make and I need aprons BADLY!
