Positive Homekeeping Weekly Challenge: Week 19

With the holiday season approaching, I thought it would be good to post a challenge to help with this busy season.

What holidays and other occasions (such as birthdays and anniversaries) do you celebrate this time of year?

Ask yourself these questions regarding each occasion you intend to celebrate in the next three months. If you would like to, you can copy and past the questions into a word-processing file and type in your answers.

What is the occasion?

When will I celebrate it?

Why do I celebrate this occasion?

What is the purpose of this occasion?

What does this occasion celebrate?

What does this occasion mean to me?

What do I hope to accomplish in my celebration of this occasion?

What does the celebration of this occasion involve?

What do I like about this occasion and my family’s celebration of it?

What do I dislike about this occasion or my family’s celebration of it?

What do I wish my family’s celebration of this occasion was like?

In what ways does the celebration of this occasion benefit me?

In what ways does the celebration of this occasion benefit others?

In what ways does the celebration of this occasion bless my family?

In what ways does the celebration of this occasion glorify God?

How would I celebrate this occasion if I could spend no extra money?

How would I celebrate this occasion if I could spend as much money as I wanted to?

What does my ideal celebration of this occasion look like?

Happy pondering!

And the Winner Is. . .

Thank you to those who entered. It has been a very slow (i.e. low comment) start into the giveaway world so far! I appreciate the two little entries I got and I hope the winner enjoys her CD.

Drawing a winner felt very non-random with only two entries so what I did was throw them into the air and pick the one that landed closest to the Christmas tree. It just made me feel better! :-)

Christmas Giveaway!

This week’s Christmas givaway is Christmas Tunes for the Soul, an instrumental guitar CD.

Christmas Tunes for the Soul

Comments from happy listeners:

Of all the music CDs I have ever owned/borrowed, Eric’s music CDs are the most beautiful, relaxing, uplifting and unique I have ever listened to, without exaggeration.

Many of these tunes have the unique ability to lift your mind up to God, while inviting your foot to tap gently along. Often, my friends and family, who do not normally listen to this type of music on their own, compliments and wants to know more about the CDs and their artist(s) when I put them on. Even my 2-year old daughter loves them and asks me to play them very often. Sometimes, we play them over and over, all day long, because they are just that beautiful, and hard to get tired of!

I hope Eric will produce some more in the near future! Thanks Eric! =)

If you’d like to enter, here’s the deal.

Step 1: Share the giveaway link with your friends. You could post about it on your blog, share it on your Facebook profile or page, or something like that. You can also e-mail it to 10 friends (who might actually be interested, of course). For each way you share, I will enter you in the giveaway once.
~
Step 2 (and this is required): leave a comment here telling where/how you shared it. If it’s public (like your blog), a link would be appreciated.
~
Step 3 (this is also required): in your comment, tell something you do or your family does during the Christmas season to make it what it ought to be that has something to do with Keeping Home’s theme:

  • Promoting Positive Homekeeping
  • Helping Keep Christian Homes Healthy and Happy
  • Protecting the Existence of Home, Sweet Home, One Family at a Time
OR tell about something you do that prevents it from being what it ought to be because it doesn’t correspond to something in this theme.
~
There, just three little things (or if you want to be entered more than once, do step 1 more than once).
~
~
You can enter through Wednesday evening (Dec 15). I will randomly draw a winner and hopefully announce the winner on Thursday. I will need the winner’s address immediately so I can mail it with some possibility of it arriving before Christmas (it’s a little late for promises!).
~~
Note: The prize ships free within the USA.  If you’re not in the USA you can enter (as long it’s legal for you to do so) but only if you’re willing to share the shipping cost.  International shipping can sometimes be unexpectedly pricey!
